Brandon Benjamin

Student Intern

I am Brandon, a senior at Johns Hopkins University studying cognitive science and public health. At the CPCR, I am an intern in Dr. Nayak's lab and am primarily involved in the study of psilocybin for PTSD.  I am intrigued by the clinical potential of psychedelics to treat psychological disorders such as addiction, Major Depressive Disorder, and PTSD. I am also passionate about exploring how psychedelics can serve as an intervention to alleviate racial trauma in BIPOC communities. In the future, I hope to apply my knowledge, experience, and passion as a psychiatrist with the end goal of having my own practice. In my spare time, I enjoy biking around Baltimore and playing basketball with friends.
