We are researchers at the Johns Hopkins Center for Psychedelic and Consciousness Research conducting a survey study of people with HPPD to help understand potential risk factors, symptom progression, and treatment. HPPD is a condition that causes perceptual changes or hallucinations that are similar to those experienced during psychedelic drug use, even after the effects of the drug have worn off. These changes can include visual disturbances, such as seeing geometric patterns or flashes of light, and distortions in colors or textures. HPPD can be persistent and can cause significant distress or impairment in daily functioning for some individuals. If you have experienced perceptual changes after using a psychedelic drug, but are not sure of whether you meet criteria for or have been diagnosed with HPPD, you are also welcome to participate.
As you may know, our Johns Hopkins research team has conducted a series of survey and laboratory studies investigating various aspects of psychedelic use and this new survey is an important extension of our published and ongoing research. If you are interested in participating or would like to know more about the study, please continue on to the secure study site. We anticipate that it will take you approximately 30 minutes to complete the survey. Your participation is anonymous.
