Karthik Kartha

Research Coordinator

Karthik works under Dr. Frederick Barrett on the development of psilocybin as a potential treatment for major depressive disorder, a phase III clinical trial directed by the Usona Institute. He previously conducted research at the Johns Hopkins Division of Psychiatric Neuroimaging, investigating neural circuit function in Parkinson’s disease. Karthik is interested in the clinical application of psychedelics in treating neurodegenerative conditions.

Karthik earned his bachelor’s degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cognitive Science and Economics with minors in Psychology and Chemistry. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. Karthik intends to pursue further graduate training as a neuroscientist and clinician.
