Matthew Nielsen

Research Coordinator

Matthew is a Research Program Coordinator working with Dr. Sandeep Nayak. He is primarily working on a study to determine safe doses of microdose psilocybin, as well as studies investigating the potential benefits of classic psychedelics for highly prevalent mental disorders. Matthew graduated from George Washington Unviersity with a B.A. is Psychology and French. He has previously researched the effects of state legislation on mental health outcomes in sexual and gender minority populations.

Matthew intends to pursue a PhD in clinical psychology with a focus on pharmacology, with the hopes of gaining a greater understanding of the neurobiological correlates of the psychedelic experience, and to work to develop rigorous and clear guidelines for psychedelic assisted therapy.
