We are seeking individuals with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder who are at least 21 years of age to take part in a Johns Hopkins research study. This research study will look at the effects of psilocybin, a psychedelic drug found in naturally occurring mushrooms, in patients with PTSD. The study will require two all-day psilocybin sessions located at the Bayview Medical Center. The study will investigate whether psilocybin can improve quality of life in those diagnosed with PTSD.
Participants will first complete an online screening form, followed by an in-person screening session to determine study eligibility. Participants who are eligible and agree to be in the study will
Receive two high doses of psilocybin, followed by
Weekly follow-up visits until 1 month after the session and then 2, 3, and 6 months following treatment.
Participants can receive compensation by completing several waves of ecological momentary assessment, which collects data from individuals in their natural environment using devices such as smartphones, tablets, or wearable technology.
