Matthew Reid, BMedSci, DPhil

Assistant Professor

Dr. Matthew Reid is originally from the UK and joined the Johns Hopkins Behavioral Medicine Research Laboratory in 2020 after previously completing a PhD (DPhil) in Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford, where he also held the position of Junior Dean at St. Peter's College, Oxford. His research interests broadly center around the association between sleep and mental illness. Currently, his work aims to explore this relationship by investigating the mechanisms through which sleep disruption might increase risk for depression, and by testing sleep interventions in patients with mental illness, with the goal of improving clinical outcomes.
