The V.I.V.I.D. Project

Purpose:
Informed by an ecological systems theory model adapted for psychedelic research, this anonymous online survey explores changes in how people understand themselves and their sense of identity in relation to the world after taking a psychedelic substance such as psilocybin (hallucinogenic “magic mushrooms”), LSD, DMT, mescaline, 5-MeO-DMT, or ayahuasca. This research will support the development of better psychedelic therapy and integration models.

You are eligible to participate if you:

  • You have used a psychedelic substance (e.g., psilocybin, LSD, DMT, ayahuasca, etc) and had a full psychedelic experience (i.e., not a microdose or subperceptual experience)

  • 18-years or older

  • Fluent in English

Procedures/Tasks:

Participation in this study involves filling out an online survey that will take approximately 45-55 minutes and will vary somewhat depending on how much you choose to reply to open-ended questions.

This study is being conducted by researchers at Johns Hopkins and The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Social Work, and has been approved by the Ohio State University Institutional Review Board (IRB2024E1198; Lead Contact Researcher/Co-Investigator: Meghan DellaCrosse, Psy.D.; Faculty Principal Investigator: Alan K. Davis. Ph.D.)
