Kristy Arthur, LCPC
Psychiatric Therapist
Kristy Arthur is a licensed clinical professional counselor who joined the CPRC after 15 years of working with individuals, couples and families in both private practice and inpatient hospital settings. Her clinical specializations include treatment for trauma, substance abuse, mood and anxiety disorders. Kristy graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she later returned as a lecturer after receiving her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Towson University. Kristy has previously been involved in research on dream interpretation, group therapy practices and eating disorders. After learning about the promising research being done with psychedelics, Kristy became passionate about exploring the potential benefits of psilocybin for the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. She is also interested in investigating what psychedelics might teach us about the nature of consciousness. Kristy is currently a psychiatric therapist, serving as a session guide and therapist under Dr. Frederick Barrett, for participants enrolled in a study to investigate the use of psilocybin in treating Major Depressive disorder with comorbid Alcohol Use Disorder.
