Mazen Atiq, MBBS, MD
Clinical Pharmacology Fellow
Mazen Atiq is a physician–scientist investigating the clinical salience of the acute effects of psychedelics. He earned his medical degree in Karachi, Pakistan, before completing residency training in Clinical Pathology and a fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Currently a Clinical Pharmacology Fellow, he applies pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic modeling to map the trajectory of psychedelic acute effects and uses pharmacogenetic approaches to identify predictors of response.
His active role in phase I–III clinical trials complements his concurrent pursuit of a PhD in the Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI) at Johns Hopkins University.
