Phyllis Greenwald, M.D. retired in 2017 from a 35 year career in psychiatry to become involved in psychedelic assisted research and treatment. Her prior clinical experience involved working with individuals suffering from a broad range of conditions, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She held Clinical Assistant Professor appointments in the University of Maryland Department of Psychiatry and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and was an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Phyllis also has considerable experience in administrative roles in both hospital settings and the health insurance industry. Intrigued by the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, she was certified in 2017 by the California Institute of Integral Studies in Psychedelic Assisted Treatment and Research. In addition to her current role as a session facilitator at Johns Hopkins CPCR, she works as an adherence rater on the MAPS MDMA/PTSD studies.
